The term “exclusion lists” is used to describe the LEIE, SAM, and AHCA Medicaid Sanctioned Provider lists below. Each list will show an “ineligible individual or entity.” An ineligible individual/entity is a person or company that is currently excluded, debarred or otherwise ineligible to participate in federal or state health care programs or in federal procurement or non-procurement programs. The effect of being excluded is that companies in the health care business, from providers to insurers, won’t employ, contract, accept referrals from, or otherwise do business with an excluded person.
