  • When does the fellowship program start?
    • The fellowship for the 2025-2027 cycle is expected to start in June 2025.
  • How many fellows are selected?
    • We select one administrative fellow.
  • Who should our recommendation letters be addressed to? Are the recommendation letters to be submitted by the applicant along with other materials, or submitted separately by the person giving the recommendation?
    • Letters can be addressed to the recruitment committee. This however is not a requirement. The recommendation letters are to be submitted by the applicant along with other materials. Materials should be combined in one (1) merged PDF, with the filename as “Last Name, First Name_2025 Administrative Fellowship Application”.
  • What is the balance between purely financial projects versus more operational projects in this fellowship opportunity?
    • As a fellow, you must be willing to work in both areas as needed. Depending on the needs of the organization, we tailor to the fellow’s desires and can encourage focusing more in one of the two areas, however, both areas go hand in hand.
  • What are the working hours for the program?
    • Fellows are hired as TEAMS employee and are expected to complete 40 hours a week. Projects may require work to be performed outside of work hours.
  • What specific skills or experiences do fellows gain from this fellowship program that prepare them for leadership roles in healthcare administration?
    • Fellows develop strong analytical skills through data-driven decision-making and financial analysis. Critical leadership and management skills by working closely with senior faculty, administrators and other stakeholders on strategic initiatives. The fellowship provides hands-on experience in operational management and process improvement within a large healthcare system, preparing fellows to effectively oversee complex medical center operations. Additionally, the program enhances communication and collaboration skills, essential for leading multidisciplinary teams and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Can you share examples of past projects or initiatives that fellows have been involved in?
    • Fellows in this program have worked on a variety of impactful projects, including intern recruitment, clinic budget creation, and employee FTE and salary expense tracking modules. They have also been involved in the standardization of faculty offer letters, conducting deep dives into departmental operations, and creating faculty compensation plan estimates. Additional initiatives include the enhancement of flexible work policies, improving training and communication processes, post-audit of capital projects, financial trend analysis for the State of Florida, and reimagining service delivery for human resources and financial services.
  • Does the Administrative Fellowship sponsor work visas?
    • No, unfortunately at this time we do not sponsor work visas for administrative fellows.
  • What’s the annual salary for the 2-year position?
    • The expected annual salary is $70,000.
  • Are moving costs covered if accepted into the program?
    • Leadership will review this as needed and details will be discussed if candidate moves forward in the selection process.
